Traditional Postnatal Practices Training

Endorsed by Tourism Malaysia

Discover Malaysia’s rich traditions of postnatal recovery through an immersive, hands-on training experience.

Learn traditional abdominal wrapping, herbal body treatments, postnatal wellness practices, and the cultural philosophies that have shaped Malaysian maternal care for generations.

Drawing on Malay, Chinese, and Indian healing traditions, this workshop combines practical skills with an understanding of how to incorporate these time-honored practices into modern maternal wellness services.

You’ll leave with practical knowledge, greater confidence, and new ways to support mothers and families during the fourth trimester.

Malaysia’s traditional postnatal practices place the mother’s recovery at the heart of family wellness.

During the fourth trimester, mothers receive dedicated care through restorative body treatments, nourishing foods, herbal preparations, and traditional abdominal wrapping. These practices are designed to support recovery while families adjust to life with a newborn.

Traditional Malaysian postnatal care recognizes recovery as a time for rest, restoration, and nurturing the mother.

Skilled traditional practitioners, known as bidans, use herbal preparations, therapeutic body treatments, and generations of cultural knowledge to support maternal well-being.

This workshop introduces these practices through hands-on learning, with an emphasis on understanding their traditional applications and adapting them responsibly to modern postnatal care.
